Our METS success

Last month CTEK attended METS in Amsterdam, the world’s largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry; this was the 8th successive year that we have attended the show.

This event gave us the perfect opportunity to meet with our key marine contacts and showcase our range of smart battery chargers, on-board charging systems and other charging accessories to the 19,000 visitors who attended the three day event.

With an increase in the number of electronic devices being used on boats, coupled with more sophisticated electronic systems, we found that visitors to our stand had an increased focus on battery management. With many on board charging systems lacking the technology required to charge leisure batteries beyond around 80%, batteries are at a severe risk of sulphation and stratification, the two biggest battery killers.

We were demonstrating the CTEK DC / DC onboard charging system that will combat this problem by using patented CTEK technology deployed in our award winning mains chargers – to condition, 100% charge and maintain the batteries, thereby maximising performance and extending life.

Drawing its energy from the boat generator, this small yet powerful system continuously determines the needs of the battery, delivering a safe, powerful charge whilst making sure that it doesn’t damage the alternator or overcharge the battery. The optional solar and wind connector enables additional maintenance charging of both the consumer battery and starter battery when the boat is stationary.

Our DC / DC onboard charging system, along with our full range of marine chargers and accessories, was well received by visitors to the stand and we look forward to METS 2012.
